Professor Cheryl Jones from the Royal Children's Hospital will present at the first Doherty Institute Seminar for 2018. Cheryl's presentation, Causes and Consequences of Infectious Encephalitis in Australia, will examine the emerging causes of viral encephalitis and the lessons learned from the Australian Childhood Encephalitis (ACE) Study.

Professor Jones is the newly appointed Stevenson Chair of Paediatrics and Department Head, at the University of Melbourne, an infectious diseases physician at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and an internationally recognised research leader in childhood infectious diseases, particularly emerging infectious diseases of the brain in children, and vertically transmitted infections now at the MCRI.
