Melbourne is undoubtedly a world hub for Malaria research. Forty or so laboratories, with over two hundred scientists are working together to develop innovative ways to control and ultimately eradicate this devastating disease. The Malaria in Melbourne conference (MiM) is a biennial meeting that brings together the malaria community from Melbourne, and around Australia, to showcase the latest advances in malaria research and further increase the profile of scientific research being carried out in Australia. The meeting is firmly focused on Australia’s next generation of researchers. MiM2017 will include a plenary talk by an invited speaker (to be confirmed), around 35 oral presentations - all given by early career scientists - and two poster/networking sessions.  There will be seven session with topics including drug discovery, epidemiology, immunology, metabolomics, and molecular and cellular parasitology, among others.  This a great opportunity for PhD students and post-docs to present their research to an audience of outstanding scientists in a friendly environment. Prizes will be awarded for the best talks and posters.
