WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis celebrate Highly Commended Award
Congratulations to the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis (a research centre located with VIDRL at the Doherty Institute) for their ‘Highly Commended’ placing in the Chief Executive's Award for Outstanding Achievement at the Celebrating Excellence Awards at Melbourne Health.
The Celebrating Excellence Awards, held annually by Melbourne Health, are a way of acknowledging people who are making a difference, projects which have changed the way they work, and innovations which are delivering the best healthcare for the community.
As part of the evening, the Chief Executive’s Leadership Award recognises outstanding leadership by an individual or team resulting in positive change across Melbourne Health. It recognises an outstanding success, or action, above and beyond the call of duty and an ongoing contribution to Melbourne Health.

Congratulations to the winner:
- Professor Stephen Holt and the Renal Transplant Team. The renal transplant program transforms the lives of patients living with dialysis. The success of this program at the RMH is solely due to the hard work, dedication and teamwork of the Nephrology department, led by Professor Holt.

The Celebrating Excellence Awards were presented at the annual event on Friday 24 November at San Remo Ballroom, Carlton North. They recognise individuals and teams who have contributed to Melbourne Heath’s vision to be "First in Care, Research and Learning".
