The Australasian COVID-19 Trial (ASCOT) is a randomised control trial investigating the best treatments for patients hospitalised with COVID-19, with the aim of preventing deterioration to the point of needing a ventilator. ASCOT uses an adaptive platform so that therapeutics can be added or subtracted depending on performance. Currently, there are three major arms to the platform: antiviral, antibody therapy and anticoagulant interventions.
