Amanda embarked on her professional journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Human Nutrition (Honours) at La Trobe University, followed by the successful completion of a Graduate Certificate in Public Health at Monash University. With a wealth of nine years experience, she has played a pivotal role in advancing health research, specialising in both quantitative and qualitative studies. Amanda initiated her research career at Austin Hospital in Melbourne and continued to make notable contributions at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Her research endeavors encompass diverse areas, such as investigating vaccinations and infectious disease surveillance within aged care settings, as well as exploring the impact of cancer treatment side effects on patients' quality of life.

- Amanda has made significant contributions to health research through her publications. Notably, she authored a review on vitamin E in cancer treatment (Nutrients, 2022) and co-authored a study on cancer and the COVID-19 vaccine (Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2021). She also explored exercise and nutrition in cancer (Australian Journal of General Practice, 2020) and herbs/spices' effects on blood pressure (Journal of Hypertension, 2019). Additionally, Amanda contributed to research on cancer-related fatigue guidelines (BMC Health Services Research, 2023) and lifestyle interventions in endometrial cancer (Integrative Cancer Therapies, 2022).
