Nafisa Yussf


Nafisa Yussf is a Social Researcher and Project Manager at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis, The Peter Doherty Institute. Nafisa’s background is in social research, community engagement and public health program development and delivery within a culturally responsive framework. Nafisa’s interests are in community engagement and co-design, public health advocacy and policy, and research translation.

    • Nafisa has an extensive background and expertise in community engagement and social research, collaboratively working in partnership with affected communities and stakeholders. Her research focuses on preventing mother to child transmission of chronic hepatitis B and improving care for people with hepatitis B. She is a global advocate for people living with hepatitis B utilising her lived experience to influence the development of public policy in relation to viral hepatitis in Australia.

    • Victorian perinatal research project

      This project aims to comprehensively describe the current status of mother to child transmission of hepatitis B elimination efforts in Victoria, using quantitative and qualitative analyses and assessing all aspects of the health care system.
