Sam is a PhD candidate interested in studying antibody functions in viral infections, including HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. She is specifically interested in studying the functions of plasma IgA in infection. Prior to initiating her PhD in 2019, she completed a Bachelor in Animal and Vetererinary Biosciences with honours at La Trobe University (2018). This research can be used to inform future vaccines and antibody therapies for HIV and SARS-CoV-2.
