Christina Nelson has a Bachelor of Science (2016) with a major in Biochemistry and minor in Chemistry from Monash University. She was awarded the top third year prize for her studies in Biochemistry. Throughout her degree, she ranked first multiple times in her academic subjects and received a Summer Research Scholarship with Professor Christina Mitchell’s Laboratory at Monash University. In 2018, she graduated with First Class Honours in Biochemistry with the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. She has had experience working as a Research Assistant, Technical Assistant and Senior Laboratory Technician.

Kent Group
Stephen’s group studies immunity to HIV, influenza and SARS-CoV-2. They are analysing a variety of vaccine strategies, including nanoparticle-based vaccines. They are studying a series of immune responses to gain better insights into protective immunity to important viral pathogens. They are developing monoclonal antibody therapies for HIV, influenza and SARS-CoV-2 to improve the treatment of these infections. The Kent group works very closely with Dr Amy Chung’s laboratory at the Doherty Institute.
