Ms Sabine Braat joined the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Melbourne in June 2015 and the Biggs Group at The Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity in June 2016. At the University of Melbourne she provides expert statistical advice to the design, analysis and reporting of clinical and health research in her role as Senior Biostatistician and Co-Head of the Biostatistics Node of the Methods and Implementation Support for Clinical Health (MISCH) Research Hub. In her role as Senior Biostatistician at the Biggs Group, she provides statistical expertise into research in maternal and child health in Vietnam and adult health in Indigenous communities.

Sabine is a biostatistician with a focus on clinical trials. Sabine has over 15 years’ experience working as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry where she contributed to the design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials ranging from the early clinical phases to post-marketing in a range of medical areas. She joined academia in 2015. Sabine is an Accredited Statistician (AStat) by the Statistical Society of Australia (SSA) and vice-chair of the executive committee of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance Statistics in Trials Interest Group (ACTA STInG).
