The WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis is involved in numerous activities to achieve the global WHO goal of elimination of viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.
WHO surveillance and laboratory capacity building
The WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis works in partnership with the WHO in moving towards viral hepatitis elimination in our region and globally. In conjunction with the designation as a Collaborating Centre and as a WHO Regional Reference Laboratory for Viral Hepatitis in 2010, the Centre assists the WHO Headquarters and WPRO Office with advice and support for approaches to the prevention and management of viral hepatitis, and provides reference testing for samples collected as part of national serosurveys conducted across WPRO.
Operational guide to assist countries in collecting monitoring and evaluation indicators for viral hepatitis
This project aims to catalyse global viral hepatitis elimination efforts by developing an operational manual to guide national approaches to collecting, utilising and analysing strategic information for focused action in the WPRO and SEARO regions.
